What We Do

We provide a one-stop solution for our customers when it comes to sourcing unique or hard to find equipment. We engage directly with local and globally located vendors, and arrange purchase and delivery of MRO spare parts & equipment straight to the final destination, Free-Into-Store. IMEX removes the hassle for our customers having to set up purchasing relationships with multiple vendors.

  • We act as an extension to your procurement team or warehouse. Think of us as your buying house, a buying agent, or your specialised parts and equipment procurement partner.

  • We keep warehouses, depots and supply stores fully equipped with spare parts, and facilitate repairs and calibration when required.

  • We provide finance if required, and handle all freight forwarding logistics including customs clearance, duties and local delivery requirements.

What Our Customers Are Saying

“The benefit to us is IMEX can quickly source products globally from suppliers that do not have distributors in Australia. They also have the ability to deal in foreign currencies.”

— Purchasing Manager, Lytton Refinery, QLD

“Knowing where to locate OEM parts or genuine replacements recommended by the manufacturer, that’s why the team at IMEX is invaluable.”

— Special Industrial Projects Team, Dairy Manufacturer, VIC

Our History

Founding Director Richard Fuller began IMEX in Adelaide in 1984. Having previously worked with a US company building the Adelaide Santos Liquid project (A $2 Billion project completed in 1985), and with an accounting background, he had the foresight to set up a small office in Adelaide to handle enquiries for parts and equipment made in the USA for Australian customers. Richard quickly grew a strong reputation for IMEX as a trustworthy and reliable supplier of spare parts & equipment for the Petrochem industry. Many of the original customers Richard obtained in the early days remain valuable clients of IMEX to this day.

Richard moved IMEX to Sydney in 1992, where the business continued to thrive and diversify into supplying for other industries such as food and metals processing. Soon after, Richard’s older brother Nigel joined the team - a valuable asset with a background in sales and business development. IMEX was now cemented as the key procurement service provider within Australia - and proudly Australian and Family run-and-owned.

From 2014 - 2018, the second generation of IMEX joined the team. Susie Crebar, Jen Jennison and Libby Beaumont brought a fresh perspective to the business, with a focus on innovation and strengthening relationships with the international market. From this point, IMEX actively supported the procurement function for the PNG LNG Project, buying parts & equipment destined for Port Moresby & Hides during the gas supply start-up phase & establishment period, and ongoing today. In recent years, IMEX services have diversified into Defence, Renewables, Medical and Laboratory.
